Players of this baccarat games will just have to place there bets on any of the three betting areas; the Bank, the Player and the Tie or Stand-off. "Chemin de fer" is a baccarat variant prevalently played in French casinos and most casinos in Europe. It is also one of the earliest baccarat games played in the world. The main difference of this baccarat type is the casino does not provide the funds for the game. Instead, the players wager amongst themselves and the role of the banker rotates among the players. The rules for drawing the third card in "chemin de fer" are very much more flexible than the American Baccarat.

Another baccarat variation is the Baccarat en Banque. This baccarat game is played mostly in Europe and rarely found in casinos in North America. Here, the casino provides fund for the bank, which makes the betting limit much higher if the player controls the betting limit. This baccarat variety also deals of three, instead of two hands. One hand is dealt for the bank and two are dealt for the player's hand. There are no rules restricting the drawing of a third cad. It is optional in Baccarat en Banque.

Punto Banco is also another type of baccarat played in most casinos in Europe. "Punto" literally means "Player" and "Banco" means "Bank". The rules for playing Punto Banco are very much similar to the rules used in American Baccarat. The key difference is that all the cards at play are dealt subject to specific rules set by the casino.

Last and probably the most popular baccarat game in Europe is the European Baccarat. In this baccarat game, the banker provides funds for the game and also sets the betting limits. If a player wants to bet an amount equivalent to the betting limit, he shouts "Banco" and no other player can bet in the game.
